mashed fish sandwich

Dieser Beitrag enthält Werbung – advertising. This sandwich is dedicated to process leftovers of fried fish fillet – whatever kind of fish: if cod, if redfish, if hake … I made this sandwich out of the moment when I happened to have some pieces of fried fish fillet in my fridge. My better half was delighted – & so I decided to do it once more for my blog w/ all the photos etc. This…

goat’s cheese & tomatoes

A nice galette, a savory galette is a fast meal & may be eaten hot, warm or cold. I prefer it “warm”. Let’s start w/ the remarks of my better half: too much pastry, more tomatoes would have been better … ok: fine w/ me – next time I’ll roll out the pastry somewhat thinner, add more goat’s cheese & tomatoes.(… of course the original you read about here & now was fine & nothing…

feta & tomatoes

The 1st step … The Businesswoman’s Kitchen has got a new look! It took me some weeks thinking about a new look, designing some new look, looking for a solution – i. e. a new theme – and finally plunging into the cold water by applying it. Of course I’m not finished with anything … there remains a lot of fine tuning – even maybe some major adjustments. So be surprised what happens during the…

oven-baked vegetables – leftovers …

What to do w/ leftovers? For a dinner event during weekend I prepared lots of oven-baked vegetables. It was delicious accompanied by some chicken filled w/ lemons & rosemary, a generous mix of fresh basil leaves & pressed garlic under the skin for especially flavoring the chicken breasts. (Maybe you think that the vegetables accompanied the chicken …) We all enjoyed the dinner …, however, some of the oven-baked vegetables remained on their plate afterwards…

packed vegetables

We are still in the south aka Mediterranean area … now in Northern Spain. So I made an approach to a vegetable casserole filled w/ Mediterranean vegetables – a simple dish you may prepare anytime & everywhere – as I did some years ago for the 1st time. So let’s start … Suppose you need a batch of vegetables for a roast or a BBQ or whatever. How to prepare it w/o too much trouble…

tomato sausages in southern france

We are still in Southern France – and sometimes I reinvent a recipe from my blog. This time … Do you imagine that in Southern France there are lots of types of frying sausages? Honestly, I was surprised at the variety. There are thin sausages, thick sausages, short & longer than a meter … also gentle seasoned as well as really hot – and all spicy variations in between. So we often bought some sausages…

one pot pasta tomato in southern france

We are still in Southern France in a tiny & minimalistic kitchen … It’s pasta time: we often enjoy pasta dishes because they are so easy to create. I especially like the one pot pasta approach. It’s quite a long time ago that I posted about one pot pasta tomato, but it’s one of my favourites, although I adjusted the dish a touch. Back then I thought about my approach as the mother of all…

from avocado to guacamole

Avocados are very popular w/ us. I think we are no exception. Especially since we are in Southern France we like to create some avocado mess & indulge w/ fresh baguette for our dinner. Afterwards we may have some cheese … for the finish. As I already told you there is only a tiny kitchen in our home so preparing excessive meals for lunch or dinner, requiring cooking & frying & preparing a sauce &…

insalata caprese i. e. simply caprese

It’s still winter, the nights are bitterly cold under a clear sky w/ sparkling stars while during the day the sun tries to warm up the air. So – the mood is full of spring … This morning I was outside walking for almost an hour in this fresh crispy air invigorating my body & soul. What to eat? I wasn’t up for any elaborate cooked meal, but longed for some freshness on my table.…

the day-after lasagna

Dieser Beitrag enthält Werbung – advertising. Usually I compose my lasagna adding layers of pasta, tomatoes, meat, vegetables, cheese … I put it in the oven & about 30 min later there is a delicious sizzling lasagna waiting to be cut into pieces to end up on a plate. This time I prepared a lasagna that is meant to rest for about some hours – or even better for a day – before served. I…

friday’s pizza lunch

Dieser Beitrag enthält Werbung – advertising. Pizza for lunch … I like to do a pizza for lunch especially on Fridays. For the record:My better half & I are no explicit friends of store-bought deep-frozen pizza. We never store a supply in our freezer. If there is a specific irresistible craving for pizza we either go to our trusted pizzeria in the neighborhood which serves excellent pizza – not only in the restaurant, but also…

stocking up on tomato sauce

Dieser Beitrag enthält Werbung – adverstising. This photo w/ fresh pasta & my home-made tomato sauce is real & up-to-date w/ this post. It is one of the most trivial photos in the food blogging universe (I think). It is simple: apart from cooking pasta – I always use classic Italian pasta made only from flour (durum wheat) & water – you only need a good tomato sauce & all is fine. A photo presenting…

more sandwich: pan-fried tuna mozzarella melt

Dieser Beitrag enthält Werbung – advertising.   I’m somehow obsessed w/ sandwiches. Nothing changed so far. Maybe it’s a by-product of Corona Times. Working in home office, no canteen, no lunch meetings in cafés or so … all is homebound, all meals are at home. So what to cook each day? A sandwich seems a fine idea. If you use a substantial bread, thick & big slices, adding substantial ingredients … & it’s an easy…

nice’ salad aka salade niçoise

Dieser Beitrag enthält Werbung – advertising.   My better half & I had friends invited for dinner – & it was about 30° C & more. What to do? BBQ – well, yes, but somebody (i. e. my better half) would have to be on the deck, managing the BBQ for some hours while the sun would burn merciless. (Our terrace is south/south-west bound!) We skipped this approach & opted for a French evening w/…
