lemon flavoured mozzarella

ingredients:
  • 1 buffalo mozzarella (about 125 g)
  • zest of 1 organic lemon
  • 100 g Greek yoghurt (or sour cream)
  • salt & pepper
how to:
  • Grate the lemon zest.
  • Chop the mozzarella.
  • Mix Greek yoghurt resp. sour cream w/ chopped mozzarella & lemon zest.
  • Add salt & pepper.
Notes
Organic lemon: Depending on the size of the lemon as well as your preference of intensity of lemon flavour you may use the zest of half a lemon as well as zest of the whole lemon.
Lemon juice: you may add some lemon juice (about 1 tsp) if you like - I don’t like it.
Salt & pepper: I prefer few salt, but lots of freshly ground pepper.
The lemon flavoured mozzarella can be prepared some hours in advance; it should be stored in the fridge. The mozzarella mess thickens a little bit in the fridge - it doesn’t matter!
